I don't know what it is with me.
For some strange reason, I've always had a passion
for pictures that had something to do with dew drops.
I don't know what it is.
There's just something about them that attracts me...
They give the object a bit of, I don't know, peacefulness.
They sort of remind you of little jewels
when that flash of light hits them.
They bring something extra into nature.
They bring a little bit of tranquility into what your looking at.
And you could say that they give the plant a bit of a tropical look.
...Now THESE seem like something you'd see in a nature magazine.
I'm honestly proud of myself!
Of course, all people are different, and I'm no exception.
But feeling proud of yourself once in a while never hurt.

Picture problems.
Yesterday was rather confusing.
First I found out that my pictures were supposed to be 8x10 period!
So my parents had to come right back here,
and go through the complicated process of cropping, printing, and keeping people from touching the photos.
Then we had another problem where one of my pictures was way too small to be enlarged, and I had to find another picture to replace it, and that was agonizing.
Sometimes I wonder,"Why bother?!"
In the end, I found a picture to replace the small one.
I think I did a pretty good job.
But we all have our opinions.

Photography contest!
Well, today was the day that I had to enter four pictures into this photo competition.
I had to enter one photo for each of these four categories:
Living color, Living black and white, Non-Living color, and Non-Living black and white.
I found four pictures.
This peacock was a total ham when it came to pictures.
His only trouble was keeping in focus with the camera, and constantly twirling around.
I wonder if he was trying to imitate a water fountain.
I took this one when I was walking down a road with my mother, and she wanted me to take this picture, except in a different way.
So I took this picture, then took the picture that she wanted.
I am a fan of profile pictures!
I just wanted to have a picture that sort of reflected that.
But this cat was in no mood, and the only way I could get her to cooperate was to wave my fingers around.
I think I did a pretty good job on this one... At least I had a tripod.
This picture was when I went on an expedition with my brother, and I really wanted to take a scenery picture.
I really wanted to get down into the creek to take this one, but the current was too high, and too strong.
Somehow, I'm quite content with this picture.
You don't get a fog like that too often.
Well, now I just have to wait and see what the judges think.
Wish me luck!

Looking deeper into dimensions.
This photo was inspired by a picture I saw in a calendar.
I like how the picture has an out of focus background, which helps keep your attention on the main object: the gate hook.
It's as if it's telling some sort of story. Don't you agree?
Whoever you are?

Why I do it.
I got interested in photography after my first 4-H meeting, when they told us that we could put photos of our projects in our journals, and I wanted to do something beyond what you normally see in a journal.
I wanted to put pictures into my journal that looked liked pictures you'd find in a nature magazine.
So far it's gone very well.
One of my pictures is the wall paper on my computer, I might even post it on the blog.

First Try
This picture was one of my first tries on my Dad's digital camera, a Panasonic Lumix.
When I took this picture, I was thinking of the wallpaper photos that you get when you buy a new computer. I like the way the pictures are focused on one thing, and you can really see the texture of the object in the picture. I was trying to do something like that here.
Greetings from the Squid Kid.
Greetings!
I'm the Squid Kid. Welcome to my Secret Art Studio in a classified area at the bottom of the Indian Ocean.
I'm the type of kid who likes drawing, taking pictures, and writing my own comic strips. Doing this blog is my way of sharing my ideas and thoughts about the pictures I put on it. If you have any comments on the pictures I have, feel free to put them down, positive or negative. The truth will set me free.
This blog has all of my pictures only, so if your friends ask "WHO DID THAT?!"
You just tell them, "The Squid Kid Did It!"
